Located in the heart of the regenerated Mile End Park - the 'green lung' of East London, Zeera is fast becoming the chosen favourite amongst 'curry' lovers. Our five star master chefs are dedicated to bringing our wide range of patrons the most authentic Indian hâute cuisine. Our menu is a culinary delight, where east meets west - south Indian recipes passed down from generation to generation and fused with modern European techniques in a contemporary style. At Zeera, our customers learn some of the special history behind the rich mix of our menu, enhancing their enjoyment and enriching their knowledge of Indian cuisine.

Zeera opened its doors to the public on 24th May 2002, followed by an official launch on 18th July 2002, hosted by Joanna Lumley, star of AB FAB television series and Patron to Mile End Park. Naturally this gala opening evening was 'absolutely fabulous'! Attended by VIP guests, the guest list included Members of Parliament, Community leaders and Chief Executives of a range of major companies from the World Trade Centre, to City Airport, to Tower Hamlets Council.

Since then, Zeera has been attracting clients from across and beyond London and enjoyed a host of accolades from 'Time Out' to the 'Independent' newspaper to 'Tandoori' magazine. In recent weeks, the Evening Standard paid Zeera the ultimate accolade:

"Could a curry win the Olympics for London? When Lord Sebastian Coe talked about the "sizzle factor" up his sleeve no one imagined he was talking about an Indian takeaway. In a week when a banquet with the Queen at Buckingham Palace was widely predicted as the culinary event to leave the delegates with fond memories of London, this £71.50 Indian meal might just have been our secret weapon.

One night during their visit some of the IOC delegates decided they wanted a curry and Lord Coe recommended a takeaway meal from a nearby restaurant. Forty minutes later, six of the team who will help decide London's fate were tucking into lamb bhuna, chicken curry and dhal. Today, we can reveal the restaurant was 'Zeera' on Mile End Road".

"We had no idea it was for the IOC delegates until several days later," said Ranu Miah, one of the owners of Zeera, which is just a mile from where the Olympic stadium will stand."
